नई दिल्ली: Indian cricketers के पूर्व कप्तान अनिल कुंबले के अनुसार, संकट में फंसे शुबमन गिल को उस तरह का "कुशन" दिया गया है जो अनुभवी चेतेश्वर पुजारा को कभी नहीं मिला। युवा बल्लेबाज को इंग्लैंड के खिलाफ दूसरे टेस्ट में अच्छा प्रदर्शन करना होगा वरना वह काफी दबाव में होंगे.

अपनी पिछली 11 टेस्ट पारियों में 24 वर्षीय गिल ने एक भी अर्धशतक नहीं बनाया है. पिछले साल 2023 के मार्च में उन्होंने अहमदाबाद में मेहमान ऑस्ट्रेलिया के खिलाफ भारत की पहली पारी में शतक से अधिक का स्कोर बनाया था, लेकिन तब से उनका सर्वश्रेष्ठ स्कोर 36 रन रहा है।

इंग्लैंड सीरीज शुरू होने से पहले भारतीय कप्तान रोहित शर्मा ने घोषणा की थी कि अब देखने के प्रयास में युवा खिलाड़ियों को जिम्मेदारी दी जा रही है। अनिल कुंबले ने कहा कि गिल को 2 फरवरी से शुरू होने वाले दूसरे टेस्ट के लिए अपनी स्थिरता में सुधार करने की जरूरत है और कुछ छोटी तकनीकी समायोजन करने की जरूरत है। “तो, जब आप विशेष रूप से भारत में नंबर 3 पर बल्लेबाजी करना चाहते हैं क्योंकि आपके पास वह प्रतिभा है,
